Leith School of Art 2026 exhibition at GP Plus in Edinburgh
This year, we were thrilled to support another exhibition that has resulted from a collaboration between ourselves, The Leith School of Art and GP Plus, a private medical practice in Edinburgh.
In 2022 we met with Nicholas Devison, the Principal of Leith School of Art to discuss whether the GP Plus project would be of value to the students there. The project began in 2019 when Dr Peter Copp, owner of GP Plus, expressed his desire to be involved in a philanthropic art initiative. Dr Copp generously offered funding towards a project and the use of the GP Plus premises on Dundas Street as a pop-up art gallery. The first exhibition was a collaboration with Edinburgh College of Art and was a great success. When Peter Copp then suggested Leith School of Art as our next potential collaborator, we were very excited at the thought of working with them.
Nicholas felt the project would be of most use for the students from the school’s Graduate Residency Programme. This year, the selected artist was Jamie Scott.
Jamie is a Scottish painter, printer and icon maker. His practice is inspired by absurdism, the unconscious and sacred myths. This comes from his Christian faith, his fascination with the surreal, the divine and the transformation of trauma into beauty – and also from his personal experience of injury, disability and recovery.
